NEC Experience: Since 2012 I have used the NEC3 extensively acting as ECC Project Managers Representative on a number of contracts. I have worked from an Assistant Project Manager Representative (APMR) with delegated powers through to Project Manager Representative (PMR) for The Highland Council on Capital Works Contracts. These contracts have primarily been NEC3 ECC Option A – Priced Contract with Activity Schedule ranging from bridge refurbishment and replacement to major junction upgrades to marine and flood defence works.
Within my role I have been responsible for the full array of Project Managers duties under NEC including; reviewing design and contract documentation prior to tender, assessing and ensuring contract compliance, managing contract change, addressing technical queries, compensation events, risk management, payment procedures, health and safety and risk assessment method statements.
In early 2016 I commenced employment with RJ McLeod in the role of Design Management Engineer to manage Design and Build tenders. My role involves reviewing assessing and providing guidance on contract documentation, commercial and contract risk, querying discrepancies, reviewing design solutions and identifying cost savings/innovations.
