NEC Experience: I am an NEC3 Accredited Project Manager post successful completion of the assessment in December 2018. I have attended numerous training courses both internally and externally associated with NEC, most notably the Commercial awareness 5 day training course provided by SURCO Ltd.

My experience from the past 5 years has all been working from a contracting background, my key roles and responsibilities therefore include both the administration of Main NEC3 contracts and Subcontracts, inclusive of;
-Procurement of various Subcontract packages
-Selection and Drafting of appropriate Subcontract forms prior to commencement of work
-Ensuring Subcontractors are compliant with all corporate governance and relevant legislation
-Administration of Subcontracts including assessment of monthly valuations, on site measurement, managing change, relevant notifications / correspondence and agreement of their final accounts including statements
-Setting up commercial registers to record submission of Subcontract, correspondence and management of same
-All Change control associated with both the Employer and Subcontracts
-Compilation of monthly commercial reports, including CVR, Budget, Payment Tracker, Cash Flow, Risk and Opportunities register
-Provide commercial/contractual advice to the construction team, ensuring that they are aware of the current issues, and that proper site records are kept. Furthermore, identification of and costing of key risks associated with the works
-Monitoring and administration of the contract risk register, contractual claims and any disputes on the project
-Review of the construction programmes and production records at weekly site meetings to discuss areas of concerns and collation of on-site issues
-Assessment of design drawings with the operations team to identify any potential opportunities for value engineering and/or alternatives to traditional construction methods
-Monitoring of on-site filing system
-Mentoring and developing the junior quantity surveyors on the project
-Preparation and submission of monthly interim valuations
-Preparation and submission of all commercial correspondence
-Attendance at progress meetings and risk reduction meetings internally and with the Employer
